What is the testimony that was concealed by the polytheists in this āyah?
ام تقولون ان ابراهيم واسماعيل واسحاق ويعقوب والاسباط كانوا هودا او نصارى قل اانتم اعلم ام الله ومن اظلم ممن كتم شهادة عنده من الله وما الله بغافل عما تعملون ١٤٠
أَمْ تَقُولُونَ إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسْمَـٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطَ كَانُوا۟ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَـٰرَىٰ ۗ قُلْ ءَأَنتُمْ أَعْلَمُ أَمِ ٱللَّهُ ۗ وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن كَتَمَ شَهَـٰدَةً عِندَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَـٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ١٤٠
أَمۡﲥ
تَقُولُونَﲦ
إِنَّﲧ
إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَﲨ
وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَﲩ
وَإِسۡحَٰقَﲪ
وَيَعۡقُوبَﲫ
وَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطَﲬ
كَانُواْﲭ
هُودًاﲮ
أَوۡﲯ
نَصَٰرَىٰۗﲰﲱ
قُلۡﲲ
ءَأَنتُمۡﲳ
أَعۡلَمُﲴ
أَمِﲵ
ٱللَّهُۗﲶﲷ
وَمَنۡﲸ
أَظۡلَمُﲹ
مِمَّنﲺ
كَتَمَﲻ
شَهَٰدَةًﲼ
عِندَهُۥﲽ
مِنَﲾ
ٱللَّهِۗﲿﳀ
وَمَاﳁ
ٱللَّهُﳂ
بِغَٰفِلٍﳃ
عَمَّاﳄ
تَعۡمَلُونَﳅ
١٤٠ﳆ
Do you claim that Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants were all Jews or Christians?” Say, “Who is more knowledgeable: you or Allah?” Who does more wrong than those who hide the testimony they received from Allah? And Allah is never unaware of what you do.

Answer
Imām Ibn al-Jawzī (d. 597/1201) summarized the scholars' opinions in his book "Zād al-Masīr" as follows:
- Allah bore witness to them with a testimony that Abraham and those mentioned with him were Muslims, but they concealed it. [al-Ḥasan, Zayd ibn Aslam]
- They concealed the truth about Islam and the prophethood of Muḥammad, while knowing that he was a prophet and that his religion was Islam. [Abū al-ʿĀliyah, Qatādah]
