وَقَالُواْ
كُونُواْ
هُودًا
أَوۡ
نَصَٰرَىٰ
تَهۡتَدُواْۗ
قُلۡ
بَلۡ
مِلَّةَ
إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ
حَنِيفٗاۖ
وَمَا
كَانَ
مِنَ
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ

നിങ്ങള് യഹൂദരോ ക്രൈസ്തവരോ ആയാലേ നേര്വഴിയിലാകൂ എന്നാണവര് പറയുന്നത്. എന്നാല് നീ പറയുക: അതല്ല വക്രതയില്ലാത്ത ശുദ്ധമനസ്കനായിരുന്ന ഇബ്രാഹീമിന്റെ മാര്ഗമാണ് (പിന്പറ്റേണ്ടത്.) അദ്ദേഹം ബഹുദൈവാരാധകരില് പെട്ടവനായിരുന്നില്ല.

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
Muhammad bin Ishaq reported that Ibn `Abbas said that `Abdullah bin Suriya Al-A`war said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "The guidance is only what we (Jews) follow. Therefore, follow us, O Muhammad, and you will be rightly guided." Also, the Christians said similarly, so Allah revealed,
