انا ارسلناك بالحق بشيرا ونذيرا ولا تسال عن اصحاب الجحيم ١١٩

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ بَشِيرًۭا وَنَذِيرًۭا ۖ وَلَا تُسْـَٔلُ عَنْ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ١١٩

اِنَّاۤ

اَرْسَلْنٰكَ

بِالْحَقِّ

بَشِیْرًا

وَّنَذِیْرًا ۙ

وَّلَا

تُسْـَٔلُ

عَنْ

اَصْحٰبِ

الْجَحِیْمِ

۟

Sungguh, Kami telah mengutusmu (Muhammad) dengan kebenaran, sebagai pembawa berita gembira dan pemberi peringatan. Dan engkau tidak akan diminta (pertanggung jawaban) tentang penghuni-penghuni neraka.

وَلَا تُسْئَلُ

wa-lā tusʾalu

“You are not (to be) asked about the people of hellfire”

This is a negation: the Prophet (ﷺ) is informed that he is not accountable for the unbelievers’ rejection.

وَلَا تَسْأَلْ

wa-lā tasʾal

“Do not ask about the people of hellfire.”

This is an instruction to the Prophet (ﷺ) to refrain from asking.

Penjelasan

The two readings convey complementary meanings. The second reading can be taken as an expression for how severe their punishment will be [al-Mahdawi].

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
