Reflections on Surah Al-Anbiya Ayah 3
لاهية قلوبهم واسروا النجوى الذين ظلموا هل هاذا الا بشر مثلكم افتاتون السحر وانتم تبصرون ٣
لَاهِيَةًۭ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجْوَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ هَلْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُكُمْ ۖ أَفَتَأْتُونَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ ٣
لَاهِيَةٗﱕ
قُلُوبُهُمۡۗﱖﱗ
وَأَسَرُّواْﱘ
ٱلنَّجۡوَىﱙ
ٱلَّذِينَﱚ
ظَلَمُواْﱛ
هَلۡﱜ
هَٰذَآﱝ
إِلَّاﱞ
بَشَرٞﱟ
مِّثۡلُكُمۡۖﱠﱡ
أَفَتَأۡتُونَﱢ
ٱلسِّحۡرَﱣ
وَأَنتُمۡﱤ
تُبۡصِرُونَﱥ
٣ﱦ
with their hearts ˹totally˺ distracted. The evildoers would converse secretly, ˹saying,˺ “Is this ˹one˺ not human like yourselves? Would you fall for ˹this˺ witchcraft, even though you can ˹clearly˺ see?”

'Before a heart becomes diseased or dead, it becomes distracted'
I heard Imam Omar Suleiman say this in a lecture I was listening to yesterday. This prompted me to look up ayahs that contain the word 'distracted' (noted below).
Can you think of any other ayahs that pertain to distractions? Do you have any advice or tips for people (like me 😳) who area easily distracted? Please share with us in the comments below. I'd love to hear from QuranRef...
