Reflections on Surah Al-An'am Ayah 97

وهو الذي جعل لكم النجوم لتهتدوا بها في ظلمات البر والبحر قد فصلنا الايات لقوم يعلمون ٩٧

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلنُّجُومَ لِتَهْتَدُوا۟ بِهَا فِى ظُلُمَـٰتِ ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ ۗ قَدْ فَصَّلْنَا ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ لِقَوْمٍۢ يَعْلَمُونَ ٩٧

وَهُوَﱥ

ٱلَّذِيﱦ

جَعَلَﱧ

لَكُمُﱨ

ٱلنُّجُومَﱩ

لِتَهۡتَدُواْﱪ

بِهَاﱫ

فِيﱬ

ظُلُمَٰتِﱭ

ٱلۡبَرِّﱮ

وَٱلۡبَحۡرِۗﱯﱰ

قَدۡﱱ

فَصَّلۡنَاﱲ

ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِﱳ

لِقَوۡمٖﱴ

يَعۡلَمُونَﱵ

٩٧ﱶ

And He is the One Who has made the stars as your guide through the darkness of land and sea. We have already made the signs clear for people who know.

One peculiar aspect I really like about the Qur’an is that it does not simply ask us to believe; it asks us to look, think, reflect.

Look around.

Look at the skies. The heavens. The precision of the universe. The perfection of the earth that allows life to flourish.

Look at what reaps when one is patient. Not simply the seeds, but also the blessings.

The mercy.

The justice that comes when you surrender to Him.

Think.

Reflect.
