قالوا اجئتنا لتافكنا عن الهتنا فاتنا بما تعدنا ان كنت من الصادقين

قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا لِتَأْفِكَنَا عَنْ ءَالِهَتِنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

Shallow, ignorant, entitled and arrogant.
Characteristics of people who turn away from the Truth.

Prophet Hud AS relayed the Message in truth but his  people turned away.
They question the validity of the Message.
They question the relevance of  Prophet Hud  AS.
As a result,  the People of  'Ad were done away with.

Intrinsic in these ayahs is a lesson for me that those who deny the Message of the Prophets AS are silly and superficial people. 
Not only that, their refusal to think and ponder over the Message further impaired their judgment to the extent that they could not tell the difference between a blessing from a danger.

May we never ever leave the Quran
May we always always ponder on its divine lessons
May we always be Guided to be able to differentiate the blessings from the dangers
Aamiin.
