Bismillah 

The Questioner:
Who am I?
From where did I come?
And where am I going?


Islam:
You are not just matter.
Not just breath and bone.
Allah shaped you from clay (6:2)
and honored you with His Spirit (38:72).
You are a soul,
a servant,
a traveler on the path of return.


Secular Thought:
You are a child of time,
a spark of stardust,
a mind born from nature’s long experiment.
You are free to write yourself,
to shape identity,
to create meaning in a world with no script.


Islam:
You came with intention.
'Has there not come upon man a time
when he was not even mentioned?' (76:1).
Now you are here, chosen.
Not by chance,
but by decree.


Secular Thought:
You came with no decree.
Billions of years,
atoms colliding,
life evolving.
From chance,
you rose to consciousness.
And isn’t that miracle enough?


Islam:
You are going back.
'Indeed, we belong to Allah,
and indeed, to Him we will return.' (2:156)
Death is not erasure —
it is doorway.
A voice will call:
'O reassured soul… enter My Paradise.' (89:27–30).


Secular Thought:
You are going to silence.
The body rests,
the mind dissolves.
But that is why this moment matters.
This love, this art,
this breath,
this chance to leave your mark.

That’s why I say: strive.
Strive to become someone,
to live fully,
to seize the opportunity of now.
There is no other chance —
this is it.


Islam:
And I too say: strive.
'And that there is not for man
except that [good] for which he strives,
and that his effort will be seen.' (53:39–40).
This life is your field,
your only chance to become.
It is here you plant seeds,
here you build yourself,
here you choose your destiny.
Your striving is not wasted —
not in this world,
not in the next.


Secular Thought:
Then we agree on this:
to live fully,
to create boldly,
to become.


Islam:
Yes,
but I remind you —
becoming does not end at the grave.
It stretches beyond,
into eternity.


The Questioner:
Two voices,
different in foundation,
yet both call me to strive.
One roots becoming in the fleeting moment,
the other extends it into forever.
And perhaps the truth of life
is that this moment —
this striving —
is the greatest opportunity I will ever be given.

Closing reflection:
Islam is not about passively waiting for the Hereafter, but about striving, becoming, and living fully in this world, with eternity as its horizon.

Ameen.

So many of us tend to take everything as a given, pondering very little or not at all about our very existence. I realized that one could literally spend the rest of their life pondering over these verses.

 The greatest blessings of Allah include this month of Ramadan and the desire to make the most of it. Those who know its value will value it above and beyond gold and diamonds. 

The desire to intensify and immerse in the remembrance during the last 10 days is also a pure blessing and the ability to actually take the time out and reflect on life gone by and days to come if nothing else……the connection and duty towards Allah, the sincerity check and the planning of projects to please Allah, it should be a part of Ramadan. 

 Ramadan should be a strategic month. Where we plan how to please Allah through the rest of the year and years to come in our lifetime. 

Even if we died, we get rewarded for the intended good. In sha Allah


 I was sitting with my family and discussing some things about our beautiful deen, and a thought just baffled me. I told my husband if you live to be as old as the prophet pbuh , you just have 15 years. Wow that is a small number, what can one achieve in 15 years…….
.Just sharing the thought for all those who are above 45 or 50 ……you guys have some 18 to 13 years if you are lucky to be alive by 63 in sha Allah and may Allah give you more years to do good deeds ameen. 


 The past 15 years went  like a swish snap…….. lightening bolt. 

Specially the past 5 
 Ramadan just started didn’t it………

One thing I wish to take away from this Ramadan and stretch it to my leftover life is ضع خدي على تراب 

I put my my cheek on the dirt before Allah, and hope to meet Him as free of sins as a baby when I was born, in sha Allah. 

When all is said and done, I will never deserve Allah and None of my deeds will ever be enough for Him and His Majesty. 

Ya Allah accept me as I am, بحسن قبول  ameen

The creation of humanity is truly a marvel. If one takes a moment to reflect with an open heart, it becomes clear how beautifully Allah has created us. Consider the dust particles and the soil beneath your feet—seemingly insignificant, without worth. You could have been one of them, yet Allah, in His boundless wisdom, made you a human being. He endowed you with a perfect body and a soul of immense beauty. You have become a living wonder, a creation that walks, thinks, and feels.

Ponder for a moment: could you have formed yourself, given yourself this body? What about your soul—a profound mystery that even the most brilliant minds cannot fathom? You possess a body that functions seamlessly, organs that work well, and the ability to move and act. Yet, despite these gifts, much of our effort is spent solely on worldly pursuits. We innovate, create, and achieve great things, but have we paused to ask ourselves: Who am I? What is the purpose of my existence?

The truth is, we often forget our existence. You may be 20, 30, or 40 years old. But where were you 20 or 40 years ago? Today, people may know you. But did anyone know you before you came into existence? You were not known, and yet you existed only in Allah's knowledge. Isn’t it astonishing that there was a time when you were nothing, and then came a moment when you were brought into being?

Life unfolds from childhood to adulthood and eventually to old age. Inevitably, a time will come when we return to being nothing in the eyes of the world, forgotten by those who once knew us. Yet, through every stage—when we were unknown, when we became known, and when we are finally forgotten—only Allah has always known us. From the time we were fragile and unseen, to the days of our strength and recognition, to the end when we are left behind, His knowledge encompasses us.

The most crucial period is our lifetime, and yet, it is during this time that we often neglect the One who deserves our remembrance the most. Let us not forget the profound truth of our existence: we are here by the will of Allah, sustained by His mercy, and it is to Him that we will return. Thank Allah for giving you this beautiful life and spend it to please Allah Almighty not the world.
