Perhaps Allah SWT blessed you with the reward for more than a thousand months for your very little struggle on Laylatul Qadr , but perhaps you needed just one more night for your salvation.

And Allah is the Most merciful , Maybe He just wants to see how much effort you would put in

Never underestimate the even nights

And wait for the next odd night

Reflections on Surah 97 - Laylat al-Qadr

Allah (swt) mentions that on this night the Arch angel Gabriel, the angel of revelation, graces the earth with his presence. This is an event of cosmic significance. He was the angel who was with every prophet as their confidant and their teacher, he is responsible for downloading the Qur`an in the heart of the prophet (saw). He isn't a regular creation of God, he is from the greatest of proofs of God's m...

Draw Near!

At the start of Ramadan, we are reminded of an amazing ayah that is situated between the ayat of Ramadan (Al-Baqara:186 in the 2nd juzu)... Allah swt is expressing how near He is to us, right after the mention of Ramadan in which the Quran was revealed.

Then towards the end of Ramadan, as we reach surat Al-Qadr, we anticipate the night of Alqadr, which is the best and most glorified night for no other reason than being the nigh...

Draw Near

As sacred days and special occasions unfold, we often find ourselves oscillating between two extremes. On one hand, we resolve to intensify our devotion, while on the other, we become entangled in the intricacies of worship. We worry about the minutiae of optional prayers, supplications, and the allocation of time for spiritual pursuits. This dilemma often accompanies us during the Night of Power, as we yearn to experience this blessed...

Sometimes I wonder what useless activities I must have been wasting my time with on all of the Laylatul Qadr nights that happened before I was a Muslim, having no clue what Laylutul Qadr even is.

Its like one nignt a year where you can go to the good deed bank with a $1 bill and exchange it for about $30,000 (1000 months × 30 days).

But some people just didn't get the memo, and they walk around that night with $1 in their pocket not even knowin...

Draw Near

It was narrated from 'Aishah RA that she said:

'O Messenger of Allah SAW, what do you think I should say in my supplication, if I come upon Laylatul-Qadr?' He said:
'O Lord, You embody pardon, You delight in pardoning, so cloak me in Your pardon.'
Sunan Ibn Majah, 3850

Imam Ghazali wrote that 'Afuw' refers to the One who erases sins and overlooks disobedience. Similar to 'G...

But we can receive honor of reciting Quran, even outside of Ramadan.

Knowing this, why not connect with the holy book the same way?

Why do we only feel the need to connect with the Quran in Ramadan?

The answer is signaling
We are too distracted after Ramadan and think it's a normalization process
when we stop fasting,
and start eating.
But who says food is the trigger to stopping the best of deeds?
Just like we detest normalizing ties with ...

♦ The Date of Laylah al-Qadr

While discussing the various opinions about the date of Laylah al-Qadr in his famous book of tafsir, Imam al-Baghawi mentioned the following:

See more
