اذ يغشيكم النعاس امنة منه وينزل عليكم من السماء ماء ليطهركم به ويذهب عنكم رجز الشيطان وليربط على قلوبكم ويثبت به الاقدام ١١
إِذْ يُغَشِّيكُمُ ٱلنُّعَاسَ أَمَنَةًۭ مِّنْهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ لِّيُطَهِّرَكُم بِهِۦ وَيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمْ رِجْزَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ وَلِيَرْبِطَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ ٱلْأَقْدَامَ ١١

˹Remember˺ when He caused drowsiness to overcome you, giving you serenity.1 And He sent down rain from the sky to purify you, free you from Satan’s whispers, strengthen your hearts, and make ˹your˺ steps firm.

In these readings, the act of covering is ascribed to God, as in the following phrase. The verb forms (II and IV, respectively) represent linguistic options in this verb.
يَغْشَاكُمُ النُّعَاسُ
yaghshākumu n-nuʿāsu
“When drowsiness covered you”
In this reading, the ‘drowsiness’ is the subject, i.e. it covers them (by God’s command).
