بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

ٱللَّهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
Allah is truly Appreciative, All-Knowing. (2:158)

Sometimes when we slip...
Our thoughts race to Allah’s punishment.
We remember His Might.
That He created Jahannam.
That His punishment is severe.

And that is true.
If it keeps you from sin.
If it humbles you.
If it draws you back to His obedience—
Then yes, hold on to that fear.

But if that mindset pushes you to despair...
If it ...

'And they will be told, ‘All this is surely a reward for you. Your striving has been appreciated.' (76:22)

All those times you endure silent, soul gripping pain… and still, you hold on to Allah, with your fingers tightening around His rope while the storm rages, wave after relentless wave seemingly trying to break you.

But Allah who is Our only Protector, the All Merciful; He is also Ash-Shakur, The Most Appreciative.

He sees you.
He knows how...

I was reading Hamiduddin Farahi's commentary (tafsir) and found some blank pages in it. His renowned student and great exegete Amin Ahsan Islahi had noted 'Bayaz' (referring to a blank page) on those topics, which were left unfinished. In some places, Farahi had even jotted down notes on future subjects, but alas, those notes remained incomplete. Yet, Farahi's commentary is so profound that it feels as if he is still working on it. The blank page...

Allah has shown us ways to see if we are grateful or ungrateful and there is a garden prepared for those who burned themselves in striving and struggling to be in Allah’s path by being grateful..
I feel a connection among ayah # 3, 8 and 22.

Ayah - 3 : There are ways to be grateful no matter how worse the situation is !

Ayah - 8: Giving to the orphans or needy when there is love for the food in heart.

Ayah - 22 : Garden is for t...

Sometimes trying to do even the basics feels like a struggle. Waking up on a cold morning to pray fajr, avoiding haram, maintaining family ties, praying Isha when you'd rather go to sleep, maintaining your modesty, etc.

But did you know that Allah is ash-Shakoor, The Appreciative?

Imam Al-Ghazali tells us that ash-Shakoor is

'The one who rewards the practice of a few pious deeds many-fold, and in response to the action of a few days, gives lim...

There’s a certain brilliance in the old saying:
'Stop and smell the roses'
To slow down, to notice the world around you, and to realize that the creator of such beauty is the source of all beauty.
And roses are - like many other flowers - pretty, full of color, life, and they smell lovely!

But not ALL flowers are held in such high regard. Some hold a status far below the beauty of roses, tulips, and other pretty blossoms… Some are in fact consid...

Dandelions are flowers that are generally viewed as being pesky, unwanted weeds. They hold a status far below the flowers that are generally considered to be beautiful, such as roses, tulips, orchids, etc.

This past summer, my 4 year old son picked a small bouquet of dandelions for me. He said, 'I got these flowers for you, momma' with a big smile on his face. I thanked him profusely and took them inside to put them in a small vase and placed t...
