اليس ذلك بقادر على ان يحيي الموتى

أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

سبحان الله. سبحان الله. سبحان الله.

Just looked at this ayah, then looked at it again. 

I was in a moment of self criticism. Blaming myself, disappointed, unhappy with the way I was organising my day and apportioning my time and performing my actions. My friends will know this as just how I am. I fret. I worry. And I turn around and say — I can't believe I'm this low. What happened to me?

And then when Allah ﷻ reminds, He just knocks away all of my negative thoughts with single strike.

In this ayah, He ﷻ says:

أَلَمۡ يَكُ نُطۡفَةࣰ مِّن مَّنِيࣲّ يُمۡنَىٰ

"Were they not ˹once˺ a sperm-drop emitted?" (75:37)

And I say to myself: yes. I was. That.. that's true. I have to admit that.

So. If I was that. What was I then? Was I organised? Was I put- together? Punctual? Studious? Pious? Probably not. I wasn't any of that.

How often do I forget that beautiful name of Allah ﷻ – Al Khaliq! That He ﷻ created me when that was all I was. He created me into something new. 

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةࣰ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ

"Then they became a clinging clot ˹of blood˺, then He developed and perfected their form," (75:37)

Allah ﷻ created me. From the drop to the clinging clot to the complete form – me, a human being. 

He created me. How often do I remember that? He actually created me. So why can't He create me again?

It would be wrong of me to criticise and give up on myself when I don't know what Allah ﷻ will create me to be tomorrow. 

When I sin, why can't He create me into someone that corrects themselves, into a pious person of greater taqwa?
When I delay, why can't He create me into a person who is active and helpful and has baraka in my time?
When I despair, why can't He create me into a person of incredible hope and happiness and positivity that astounds the world?

He created me once, from something humble into something amazing. He can do it again. And I don't understand why I don't expect that of Him ﷻ? I should. I should expect that He ﷻ helps me. 

The one who can make a human being from a drop, He ﷻ can surely improve all our situations.
