Imagine being in the car with your GPS pre-set to its destination. But rather than aligning yourself to where you are going, instead you’re anxiously trying to change lanes, stopping at every exit you can find, and completely avoiding the reality of your final destination. That loss then translates into wasted time. Similarly, this is precisely our life when we fail to connect with the One we are returning to.  Only if we knew and connected with the inevitable destination, our lives, values, and daily decisions would reflect and align with where the GPS is already going. 

‎‫إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ یَوۡمَىِٕذٍ ٱلۡمَسَاق
'On that day they will be driven to your Lord'. (75:30)

Do you know where you are you driving to 🚙 ? Reflect now before you're no longer behind the wheel 🛞.

May Allah SWT guide us, 

Not only this happens when we try to return to Allah SWT . Some times when we are on the right way in our daily life, sometimes we set a goal 

"insha-allah let's start quran and complete it by reading it every morning " 

First day we read a Ayah 
We try to memorise it (with good intentions) 

Second day we read more (we reflect on what we have learn) 

Third day just reading  dont satisfied us 
(We try to know the meaning of the verse) 

Fourth day eventually its get burden some to read,learn,reflect and knowing the meaning 

5th day we drop all together.

My Muslim brother and sister  if you noticed .Even if we have Good intentions as some times. As inform by Samia Mubarakin this post "completely avoiding the reality of our final destination" 
Which here was completing quran by reading.
We try to stop at every exit we get in our way. 
Therefore, aligning our daily actions to our goal is very important

There is an end to any tour.  Life in the world is also a journey.  People are in a special situation when they go out on tour.  He does not carry anything except the essentials.  He doesn't buy as many beautiful things as he sees in the market.  That will increase the burden!  He can't sleep in a hurry to catch the car.  Allah has repeatedly reminded us of our destination:

 1.  On that day, all will travel to your Lord (Qiyamah, 30).

 2.  It is certain that all will return to your Lord
 (Alak, 6).

 3.  Surely all of them must return to Me (Gashiyah, 25).

 4.  We are beggars for your forgiveness, and to You is our return (Baqara, 275).
غفرانك ربنا وإليك المصير

 Am I creating a destination path?  Arranging to go there and stay comfortable?  What do I take first when I go to the North Pole?  Winter clothes.  Otherwise, it is a matter of a day, I doubt whether I will survive even for a few hours.  What am I doing to be saved from hell in the hereafter?

 Aren't I making my own bag heavy with various belongings?  Which is the way to go, are these necessary to reach the destination?  After reaching the destination, will it be useful or will it be discarded?

Aameen! And the best provision for our journey is al taqwa!
'.. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allah. And fear Me, O you of understanding.' Al baqarah: 197

Read these verses.

Put your feet together, side by side. 

Look at them.

Reflect on the day someone else will place them together like this before your burial...

We are going to die one day. We all know. But are we ready to think that 'one day' can be today? Or the next hour?
The reason why we don't remember this universal truth more often is this attachment to Dunya and perhaps the fear of what lies after death. Therefore, It fears this Death. So it always tries to find an escape. But does Malik Ul maut(the angle of death) ever miss his target? 
We keep in heart so many goals for here. Wallahi. So many hopes and dreams that we lose the sight of bigger picture, but what if we forget, does our Rabb forget? No.
RasoolAllah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم used to make this dua,
اللھم احسن عاقبتنا في الأمور كلها و أجرنا من خزى الدنيا والآخرة.
Oh Allah, give us a good end in all our matters and save us from the humiliation of this world and hereafter.
