I was watching someone's story today where they had posted a Q&A. One of the questions was: 'I want to know, if I stop praying (Salah), what will happen?'
The answer was: 'What led you into Hellfire? They will say, ‘We were not among those who prayed.’ (74:42–43)'
It ended with a reminder: 'The fire of this world can be avoided, but the fire of the Hereafter begins when Salah is abandoned.'
Reading that made me realize how many prayers we have...
'What has landed you in Hell?' and they'll reply, 'We were not of those who prayed, '
The indication is that we believed and did not join the group, which was the group of worshipers. This shows the importance of prayer in Islam. It is as if it is proof of faith and welfare, and the refusal of prayer is actually disbelief and the person who doesn't pray. He loses the attribute of faith!
