من يصرف عنه يوميذ فقد رحمه وذالك الفوز المبين ١٦
مَّن يُصْرَفْ عَنْهُ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ فَقَدْ رَحِمَهُۥ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْمُبِينُ ١٦

Whoever is spared the torment of that Day will have certainly been shown Allah’s mercy. And that is the absolute triumph.

This is in the passive voice, with ‘it’ referring back to the punishment. It is also possible to understand that the person is averted from the punishment.

This is in the active voice, referring back to the Lord.
