Readings
ذِي الجَلَالِ
dhī l-jalāli
“the Name of your majestic Lord”
In this genitive reading, the description is ascribed to the Lord directly.
ذُو الجَلَالِ
dhū l-jalāli
“the majestic Name of your Lord”
In this genitive reading, the description is ascribed to His name, which itself refers to the Lord.

Explanation

These readings amount to the same meaning [al-Mahdawi]. Ibn ʿĀmir's accords with the Levantine Codex with a waw rather than ya'. NB: there is consensus on the waw in 55:27, where the description is ascribed to the Face of the Lord.

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
