And ˹it was˺ He ˹Who˺ turned the cities ˹of Sodom and Gomorrah˺ upside down.

والمؤتفكة أهوى يعني مدائن قوم لوط عليه السلام ائتفكت بهم ، أي : انقلبت وصار عاليها سافلها . يقال : أفكته أي قلبته وصرفته . أهوى أي خسف بهم بعد رفعها إلى السماء ; رفعها جبريل ثم أهوى بها إلى الأرض . وقال المبرد : جعلها تهوي . ويقال : هوى بالفتح يهوي هويا أي سقط و " أهوى " أي أسقط .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
