Bismillah

By the Mount —
Where Musa stood barefoot in the valley of Tuwa,
where revelation first descended,
where the Word was carved into stone,
and later shattered in grief when the covenant was broken.
A beginning — both majestic and heavy.
The place where responsibility met betrayal.

By the Book — inscribed and unrolled —
From the scrolls of the Torah, written with trembling care,
to the Injeel, spoken in parables and carried by disciples,

'Umar came out to patrol Madinah one night and passed by the house of one of the Muslims who was reciting these ayahs in his prayer. Umar said: 'By Allah, this oath is true!' He then dismounted his donkey, rested his back on the wall, and stayed there for a little while. Then he returned to his house and did not come out for a month, as people visited him, not knowing what had afflicted him.' - Ibn Katheer
