Readings
wa-yaqūlu
yaqūlu
“(And) those who believe will say…”
These readings both begin a new sentence, one with an opening conjunction, and the other without.
wa-yaqūla
“Perhaps God will bring victory…and those who believe will say…”
This reading has the verb in the subjunctive, conjoined to the meaning in the preceding verse.

Explanation

These readings amount to the same meaning [Makki]. The reading without the initial wāw accords with the Codices of Makkah, Madinah and the Levant.

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
