But when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is pure magic.”

قوله تعالى : فلما جاءتهم آياتنا مبصرة أي واضحة بينة . قال الأخفش : ويجوز " مبصرة " وهو مصدر كما يقال : الولد مجبنة . قالوا هذا سحر مبين جروا على عادتهم في التكذيب فلهذا قال :
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
