حتى اذا فتحت ياجوج وماجوج وهم من كل حدب ينسلون ٩٦
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٍۢ يَنسِلُونَ ٩٦

until ˹after˺ Gog and Magog have broken loose ˹from the barrier˺,1 swarming down from every hill,

“when the peoples of Gog and Magog are let loose”

Explanation

These readings are identical in meaning. The first two have the form I passive verb, and the last has form II, denoting intensity. The names of the tribes are pronounced with hamzah only by ʿĀṣim [Makki].

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
