16:37

Even though you ˹O Prophet˺ are keen on their guidance, Allah certainly does not guide those He leaves to stray, and they will have no helpers.

Readings
lā yahdī
“then (know that) whomever God sends astray can never find the way” OR "God will never guide (through compulsion) those whom He sends astray"
This verb is interpreted to have the same intrasitive meaning as form VIII, i.e. to walk on the right path. It can also be understood in its more common, transitive meaning 'to guide' in the sense of overruling their chosen misguidance.
lā yuhdā
"then (know that) there is none to guide those whom God sends astray"
This is the passive voice of the transitive meaning 'to guide'.

Explanation

These readings provide complementary meanings [al-Alusi].

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
