They asked ˹sarcastically˺, “O Shu’aib! Does your prayer command you that we should abandon what our forefathers worshipped or give up managing our wealth as we please? Indeed, you are such a tolerant, sensible man!”

Wakasema, «Ewe Shu'ayb, je swala hii ambayo unaendelea nayo ndiyo inayokuamuru wewe kwamba sisi tuache masanamu na mizimu ambayo baba zetu wanaabudu, au kwamba sisi tujizuie tusitumie njia tuziwezazo za hila na vitimbi katika kuchuma mali yetu?» Wakasema kwa njia ya kumcheza shere, «Wewe ndiye mwenye akili na hodari wa mipango ya usimamizi wa mali.»
