They were followed by a curse in this world, as they will be on the Day of Judgment. Surely ’Âd denied their Lord. So away with ’Âd, the people of Hûd.

{ وَأُتْبِعُوا فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً } فكل وقت وجيل، إلا ولأنبائهم القبيحة، وأخبارهم الشنيعة، ذكر يذكرون به، وذم يلحقهم { وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ } لهم أيضا لعنة، { أَلَا إِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُوا رَبَّهُمْ } أي: جحدوا من خلقهم ورزقهم ورباهم. { أَلَا بُعْدًا لِعَادٍ قَوْمِ هُودٍ } أي: أبعدهم الله عن كل خير وقربهم من كل شر.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
