قوله تعالى : إن نقول إلا اعتراك أي أصابك .بعض آلهتنا أي أصنامنا .بسوء أي ( بجنون لسبك إياها ) ، عن ابن عباس وغيره . يقال : عراه الأمر واعتراه إذا ألم به . ومنه وأطعموا القانع والمعتر .قال إني أشهد الله أي على نفسي .واشهدوا أي وأشهدكم ; لا أنهم كانوا أهل شهادة ; ولكنه نهاية للتقرير ; أي لتعرفواأني بريء مما تشركون أي من عبادة الأصنام التي تعبدونها .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
