Surat Ad-Dukhān (The Smoke) - سورة الدخان
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Sahih International
Ha, Meem.Muhsin Khan
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].
Sahih International
By the clear Book,Muhsin Khan
By the manifest Book (this Quran) that makes things clear,
Sahih International
Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night. Indeed, We were to warn [mankind].Muhsin Khan
We sent it (this Quran) down on a blessed night [(i.e. night of Qadr, Surah No: 97) in the month of Ramadan,, the 9th month of the Islamic calendar]. Verily, We are ever warning [mankind that Our Torment will reach those who disbelieve in Our Oneness of Lordship and in Our Oneness of worship].
Sahih International
On that night is made distinct every precise matter -Muhsin Khan
Therein (that night) is decreed every matter of ordainments.
Sahih International
[Every] matter [proceeding] from Us. Indeed, We were to send [a messenger]Muhsin Khan
Amran (i.e. a Command or this Quran or the Decree of every matter) from Us. Verily, We are ever sending (the Messengers),

As mercy from your Lord. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.Muhsin Khan
(As) a Mercy from your Lord. Verily! He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.

Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them, if you would be certain.Muhsin Khan
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you (but) have a faith with certainty.
Sahih International
There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death. [He is] your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers.Muhsin Khan
La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). It is He Who gives life and causes death, your Lord and the Lord of your fore-fathers.

But they are in doubt, amusing themselves.Muhsin Khan
Nay! They play in doubt.
