Sahih International
Thamud denied the messengersMuhsin Khan
Thamud (people) belied the Messenger.
Sahih International
When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah ?Muhsin Khan
When their brother Salih (Saleh) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him?
Sahih International
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.Muhsin Khan
"I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.
Sahih International
So fear Allah and obey me.Muhsin Khan
"So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.
Sahih International
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.Muhsin Khan
"No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).
Sahih International
Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death],Muhsin Khan
"Will you be left secure in that which you have here?
Sahih International
And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit?Muhsin Khan
And green crops (fields etc.) and date-palms with soft spadix.
Sahih International
And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill.Muhsin Khan
"And you carve houses out of mountains with great skill.
Sahih International
So fear Allah and obey me.Muhsin Khan
"So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.
Sahih International
And do not obey the order of the transgressors,Muhsin Khan
"And follow not the command of Al-Musrifun [i.e. their chiefs, leaders who were polytheists, criminals and sinners],

Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend."Muhsin Khan
"Who make mischief in the land, and reform not."
Sahih International
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.Muhsin Khan
They said: "You are only of those bewitched!
Sahih International
You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful."Muhsin Khan
"You are but a human being like us. Then bring us a sign if you are of the truthful."
Sahih International
He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day.Muhsin Khan
He said: "Here is a she-camel; it has a right to drink (water), and you have a right to drink (water) (each) on a day, known.
Sahih International
And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day."Muhsin Khan
"And touch her not with harm, lest the torment of a Great Day seize you."
Sahih International
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful.Muhsin Khan
But they killed her, and then they became regretful.
