فاما من تاب وامن وعمل صالحا فعسى ان يكون من المفلحين

فَأَمَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُفْلِحِينَ

وعسى من الله موجبة؛ فإن هذا واقع بفضل الله ومنته لا محالة. ابن كثير:3/383.

He knows — subḥānahu wa taʿālā —
That were not able to worship him, perfectly, sincerely, with out flaws.


Isn’t it ironic?
We’re set apart by our deen —
we carry it like a flag,
we walk with it, speak with it, breathe with it.
We follow it sincerely.
But sincerity doesn’t always mean strength.
And effort doesn’t always mean consistency.

The Mercy to the Worlds ﷺ once said:

'Imān wears out in the heart of one of you
like a garment wears out —
so ask Allah to renew the faith in your hearts.'

And how true that is.
We rise. We strive.
Sometimes it feels like we’re walking on clouds,
touching the heavens.

But eventually...
we’ll kneel.
Maybe just to tie our laces.
Maybe because we doze off.
We’ll stumble.
We'll drift.
We won’t always feel strong.
We won’t always feel whole.

Yet — listen now.

Allah ﷻ says:

فَأَمَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُفْلِحِينَ
'As for those who repent, believe, and do good —
it is right to hope they will be among the successful.' (28:67)

He didn’t say:
'Those who never sinned.'
He said:
Those who came back.

He knows...
the nights we whisper His Name in tears.
the moments we doze in sujūd from exhaustion —
still holding on.
the times we beg for khushūʿ
but our minds are heavy and our hearts distracted.
He knows how we try.
He knows when we collapse in His remembrance
—even if it looks like failure to the world.

He knows.
Because He fashioned the soul.
And He knows its weaknesses.

We were never meant to be angels.

So try.
Just try.
Not perfection.
Not never-falling.
Just sincerity.

Try — even if your hands are shaking.
Try — even if your heart feels numb.
Try — even if you're crawling through your own guilt.
Try — and He will see you.

Even in moments when I wasn’t my best... I see now that Allah was still answering my duʿās.

He never lets sincere effort go to waste.

No matter what pit you're in,
No matter what chain is wrapped around your heart,
He already knows.
And still...
He left the door of repentance wide open.

Because...

وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ
'And Allah is Ever Gracious to His servants.' (3:30)

Ya Allah...
We are Your servants.
Created by You.
Known by You.
Falling — yet still turning back to You.

You know we will slip.
You know we will forget.
Even when we say, 'Ya Allah, all we want is to please You' —
We still fall short.
But You are Al-Ḥalīm — the Most Forbearing.
You are Ar-Raḥmān — the Most Merciful.

Ya Allah...
Look upon us with the eye of mercy,
Forgive us before we fall,
Raise us after we do.
Let us walk this path back to You
even if we’re limping,
even if we’re crawling.

Plant in our hearts ḥusn aẓ-ẓann —
a good opinion of You
that never wavers in the storm.

Clothe our broken hearts with renewed īmān,
and never let us give up on Your forgiveness.

MashAllah, your words have such an impact. It made me tear up and realize how Allah swt is Ar-Rahman, the Most Merciful. JazakAllah

Reflection: Whilst the Almighty Allah is the All-Merciful (الرحمن), why not turn back to Him now, and continue to do so, whilst we are forever slippers/fault-doers/sinners (مخطئون). Furthermore, He is the Most-Forgiving (الغفار). 

And in line with this, is there anyone More-accepting (المقبل) of our faults/mischiefs/sins, than the Almighty Allah (سبحانه) ?! - We humans, have very little tolerance, for the inconvenient behaviours of others. We are not willing to forgive, or make amends, e.t.c. , though we have been commanded to do so.

Furthermore, He is always there for us, round the clock (على مدار الساعة) , eagerly hoping, that we may seek His mercy/forgiveness, e.t.c. - There is no 'Time is money' concept for Him, at all!

A couple related Ahadith (though they are many): 

 ١- [عن أبي هريرة:] إنَّ اللَّهَ يُمْهِلُ حتّى إذا ذَهَبَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الأوَّلُ، نَزَلَ إلى السَّماءِ الدُّنْيا، فيَقولُ: هلْ مِن مُسْتَغْفِرٍ؟ هلْ مِن تائِبٍ؟ هلْ مِن سائِلٍ؟ هلْ مِن داعٍ؟ حتّى يَنْفَجِرَ الفَجْرُ.

مسلم (ت ٢٦١)، صحيح مسلم ٧٥٨  • 


 ٢- [عن أبي هريرة:] إذا مَضى شَطْرُ اللَّيْلِ، أوْ ثُلُثاهُ، يَنْزِلُ اللَّهُ تَبارَكَ وتَعالى إلى السَّماءِ الدُّنْيا، فيَقولُ: هلْ مِن سائِلٍ يُعْطى؟ هلْ مِن داعٍ يُسْتَجابُ له؟ هلْ مِن مُسْتَغْفِرٍ يُغْفَرُ له؟ حتّى يَنْفَجِرَ الصُّبْحُ.

مسلم (ت ٢٦١)، صحيح مسلم ٧٥٨  • 

What are you waiting for?!

Seek His mercy and forgiveness!!

These verses are a reminder of Allah's might and power. The very natural phenomenon that dictates a huge part of our human physiology (night and day-circadian rhythm).  Our power is in submitting to his power. Control is an illusion. The night and day doesn't necessarily, according to some scholars, refer to just times of the day but also to stages of our spirituality and times of hardship and ease. The 'will you not listen' and 'will you not see' correspond to night (when one can't see) and day (when on can see).
Verse 74 and 75 really demonstrate the justice of Allah, in that even in wrong-doing, people have an opportunity to make a case. Of course, if they are sinful without repentance, the case is clear, but the fact that the opportunity is present reminds me of how Allah will never punish a people until they have made the conscious decision to reject their messenger and cast ignorance over their minds and hearts.

تدبرات: القصص ٦٧:٢٨
