( كأنهم حمر مستنفرة فرت من قسورة ) أي : كأنهم في نفارهم عن الحق ، وإعراضهم عنه حمر من حمر الوحش إذا فرت ممن يريد صيدها من أسد ، قاله أبو هريرة‌ وابن عباس - في رواية عنه - وزيد بن أسلم ، وابنه عبد الرحمن . أو : رام ، وهو رواية عن ابن عباس ، وهو قول الجمهور .

وقال حماد بن سلمة ، عن علي بن زيد ، عن يوسف بن مهران ، عن ابن عباس : الأسد ، بالعربية ، ويقال له بالحبشية : قسورة ، وبالفارسية : شير وبالنبطية : أويا .
