{ أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا الْأُولَى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ }[أي: يقوله المؤمن، مبتهجا بنعمة اللّه على أهل الجنة بالخلود الدائم فيها والسلامة من العذاب; استفهام بمعنى الإثبات والتقرير] أي: يقول لقرينه المعذب: أفتزعم أننا لسنا نموت سوى الموتة الأولى، ولا بعث بعدها ولا عذاب
