Or ˹ask them,˺ “Who responds to the distressed when they cry to Him, relieving ˹their˺ affliction, and ˹Who˺ makes you successors in the earth? Is it another god besides Allah? Yet you are hardly mindful!”

At this moment, we could look back in time and recall the periods of trouble and turmoil when we were inundated with anxiety and depression. Those were the days when we may have lost all hope, at wit's end, yearning for someone to bring us out of the darkness. When we had turned our faces towards the people around us, we might have wondered why there was none amongst them who would step up to rescue us. However, recounting those memories now, we ...See more

In the corporate world, it can be very difficult to see the CEO, even for a brief two-minute conversation. Layers of appointments and priorities make access almost impossible. If reaching someone who manages a company is that hard, what about a governor, or a president?

Now imagine the One who manages everything. Not just a company or a country, but the entire universe. He governs the rising of the sun, the movement of the stars, the life of eve...

Who responds?

I recently had to do an unpleasant task at work and it was making me feel miserable for hours. Suddenly, my negative thought cycle was interrupted by the thought that there must be an ayah of the Quran I could turn to in this situation. I remembered this verse from Surah Naml which changed my outlook.

'who responds to the distressed when they cry to Him'
Why was I just grumbling to myself, when I could use this as an opportunity t...

No doubt it is Allah، Who helps a person when he is in distress. If you reflect, there was a moment when you were distressed with no way out and then suddenly, it disappears.

It may come again and drag you back to Allah swt , but it is removed again. Allah swt reminds us that it is He who listens to His slave while he is in this low position in his life.

And to mention that in the surah named after an ant . Something we see to be very small....

I don’t know if everyone one has experienced the moment that Allah Describes in this ayah. Distress! That compels you to cry out to Allah! Only Him knowing fully well that non other than Him can remove your distress. For me it’s almost impossible for me to read this ayah without feeling that moment, when I couldn’t get my head off the ground in sujud, as though if I left the position, His 'presence' would leave along with it, or perhaps I couldn’...See more

One said(yusuf a.s) وَقالَ لِلَّذي ظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ناجٍ مِنهُمَا اذكُرني عِندَ رَبِّكَ and he forgot him as soon as he is out of prison فَأَنساهُ الشَّيطانُ ذِكرَ رَبِّهِ

But the other said (musa a.s) رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ and he didn't even have to go and ask anymore, the help itself came to him فَجَاءَتْهُ إِحْدَاهُمَا تَمْشِي عَلَى اسْتِحْيَاءٍ قَالَتْ إِنَّ أَبِي يَدْعُوكَ لِيَجْزِيَكَ أَجْرَ مَا سَقَيْتَ لَ...

Ouch.
What's wrong?
My existence hurts.
Yes. I've dug myself deep
Yet my heart hasn't surrendered.
I make wudu and raise my hands in prayer 🤲

Those moments of solitude,
Those instances of peace,

When you feel at home with yourself,
When you feel at home with God,

Even amidst pain and uncertainty,
Even amidst grief and loss,

Because you know you’re held,
You’re held in Grace and Love,

You’re held in Care and Compassion,
No matter what may come your way,

His light will show you the way,
His divine message will heal you,

His beloved teachings will inspire you,
To keep seeking divine...
