Surat Al-Muzzammil (The Enshrouded One) - سورة المزمل
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Sahih International
O you who wraps himself [in clothing],Muhsin Khan
O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)!
Sahih International
Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little -Muhsin Khan
Stand (to pray) all night, except a little.
Sahih International
Half of it - or subtract from it a littleMuhsin Khan
Half of it, or a little less than that,
Sahih International
Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation.Muhsin Khan
Or a little more; and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style.
Sahih International
Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.Muhsin Khan
Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, legal laws, etc.).

Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words.Muhsin Khan
Verily, the rising by night (for Tahajjud prayer) is very hard and most potent and good for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (understanding) the Word (of Allah).

Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation.Muhsin Khan
Verily, there is for you by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties,

And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.Muhsin Khan
And remember the Name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with a complete devotion.

[He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.Muhsin Khan
(He Alone is) the Lord of the east and the west, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). So take Him Alone as Wakil (Disposer of your affairs).
